Northern Italy and Amazing Wineries of Piedmont, Lombardy and Veneto

After years of fantasizing about it, Wine By Appointment made our way to Northern Italy this past June (2022). Northern Italy is comprised of 8 glorious regions: Valle d’Aosta, Piedmont, Lombardy, Liguria, Emilia-Romagna, Veneto, Trento-Alto Adige and Friuli-Venezia Giulia, each with their own magic. While Northern Italy may be a bit less traveled, it doesn't suffer for lack of charm and beauty. From Valle d'Aosta's soaring peaks, Piedmont's rolling hills, bountiful wines and chocolate; Lombardy's gorgeous lakes (Como and Guarda, for starters), and of course, Veneto's Venice, it's hard to imagine why you wouldn't plan a trip there, like tomorrow.

We concentrated on visiting and exploring Piedmont, Veneto, and Lombardy (great wine areas), leaving the rest of the regions for another trip. Here are snippets of our adventures.
